Copenhagen Malmö Port formally takes over 8 straddle carriers from Konecranes

This week, Konecranes officially handed over eight hybrid Konecranes Noell Straddle Carriers to Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP). These straddle carriers were ordered in Q2 2023 and are intended for the new container terminal in Copenhagen. The parts were delivered to CMP in Q4 last year and have been assembled and extensively tested on-site at the current container terminal.

One of the world’s largest biofuel plants is planned in Malmö

Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) and Green2x have entered into a partnership with the focus on the design, establishment, and operation of one of the world’s largest biofuel plants to date at CMP’s terminals in the port of Malmö. CO₂ capture – To make Copenhagen carbon neutral by the year 2025

500,000 tonnes of CO₂ will be removed from the atmosphere annually, which will significantly contribute to Copenhagen’s goal of becoming the world’s first carbon neutral capital by 2025. These are the goals of a new CO₂ capture facility at Amager Bakke, where CMP is an integral part of the joint efforts with Amager Resource Centre (ARC).

Now the DFDS ferries in Copenhagen will be receiving shore power

​The work to establish a shore power facility at the DFDS ferry terminal in Copenhagen is in full swing. The initiative is a joint collaboration between CMP and DFDS, with the Swedish company Actemium as contractor and COWI as technical advisor. The facility is expected to be operational in late summer 2021 and will makes it possible for DFDS’ ferries to significantly reduce CO2 emissions.
