🚢 New Weekly Container Service in Copenhagen! ⚓

Last Sunday marked the inaugural arrival of @ocean_network_express vessel Penang Bridge, introducing a regular weekly container service. The distinctive pink containers of ONE, already a staple at CMP's Copenhagen container terminal in Nordhavn, are now being ferried by their own fleet.

📈 Strengthening Feeder Networks: This route isn’t just an expansion of ONE’s feeder network; it’s a strategic move to boost short-sea shipping volumes. Short-sea shipping is an eco-friendlier alternative to truck transport for intra-European cargo, aligning with sustainable logistics practices.

🚢⚡️Groundbreaking Day for Copenhagen’s Shore Power Facility⚡️🚢

Today marks a significant milestone in our journey towards a greener future. We are thrilled to announce the commencement of construction work on one of the largest shore power facilities right here in Copenhagen, which will complement the shore power facility set up for DFDS in Copenhagen in 2021. ⚡️🌱⚓🚢

Under the bright sun and cloudless sky, Copenhagen’s Lord Mayor, Sophie Hæstorp Andersen, CMP's CEO Barbara Scheel Agersnap and CEO of Udviklingsselskabet By & Havn Anne Skovbro broke ground in Ydre Nordhavn, officially kick-starting the construction by PowerCon A/S and Entreprenørfirmaet Nordkysten A/S. This facility, once operational, will supply shore power to the numerous cruise ships that grace our city, both at Oceankaj and Langelinie. ⚒️🚧

⚓ CMP Welcomes Ocean Albatros in Christening Ceremony ⚓
Copenhagen today played host to a christening ceremony for the state-of-the-art expedition vessel, the Ocean Albatros of @albatrosexpeditions, at Nordre Toldbod.

The event marks the third name-giving ceremony of a vessel at CMP in Copenhagen within the last year and is a testimony to the region, city and port’s strong maritime heritage and modern commercial terminal facilities. Nordre Toldbod represents, together with Langelinie and Oceankaj, the cruise facilities of CMP in Copenhagen, enabling the port to welcome vessels of all types and sizes.

The Ocean Albatros, a sister ship to the Ocean Victory, has a capacity of 189 passengers and 100 crew. The vessel is equipped with one of the highest Polar code 6 and Ice class 1A, making it an ideal vessel for small-ship cruising in Artic and Antarctic conditions. It also has 4 diesel engines and 2 electro engines, all controlled electronically to optimize speed and fuel consumption.

The day preceding the ceremony, CMP’s Harbour Master Morten Nygaard Rasmussen delivered the shield of Copenhagen Malmö Port to the ship’s captain Arsen Prostov, as prescribed by maritime tradition when a ship calls a port for the first time. 🛡️⚓ 🛳️

🎉 Welcome back to the new Langelinie! 🎉

On Friday, we welcomed AIDAdiva of @aida_cruises as the first call on the newly renovated part of the iconic Langelinie pier in Copenhagen. ⚓ 🛳

The renovation by Hercules Fundering for By & Havn included establishment of a new sheet pile wall with ground anchors and the installation of bollards on 64 new cast bollard foundations, as well as installation of wastewater handling facilities.

The pier has great views of Copenhagen and the northern part is now ready for use by cruise guests and locals alike.

The southern half of the pier is expected to be ready in 2025 - the year where shore power for cruise ships will be available at Copenhagen's Langelinie and Oceankaj terminals🔌⚡🌱

🎉 Happy Birthday to Oceankaj! 🎉

Ten years ago, on May 2nd 2014, the flexible and modern cruise terminals at Oceankaj were officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II. Since then, these terminals have welcomed over 1,300 ship calls. They have served a total passenger capacity of 5 million guests in total.

Looking ahead, there are big plans for the next decade. In 2025, Europe’s largest onshore power facility will open at both Oceankaj and Langelinie, allowing ships to switch off their generators when berthed. By 2027, the Nordhavn tunnel will improve accessibility to Nordhavn and the Metro M4 line will also be extended to the vicinity of the terminals.
