500,000 tonnes of CO₂ will be removed from the atmosphere annually, which will significantly contribute to Copenhagen’s goal of becoming the world’s first carbon neutral capital by 2025. These are the goals of a new CO₂ capture facility at Amager Bakke, where CMP is an integral part of the joint efforts with Amager Resource Centre (ARC).

The currently applicable restrictions on cruise ship disembarkation will be eased as of today, 20 August, so that both vaccinated and Covid-19 tested cruise passengers have the possibility to disembark in Denmark. By & Havn and Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) have reached an agreement on the basic principles for a new container terminal in Ydre Nordhavn. The location of the new container terminal means that goods to the Capital Region of Denmark can continue to be delivered close to the customers, sparing the environment from added emissions and minimising congestion on the Danish road network.

The work to establish a shore power facility at the DFDS ferry terminal in Copenhagen is in full swing. The initiative is a joint collaboration between CMP and DFDS, with the Swedish company Actemium as contractor and COWI as technical advisor. The facility is expected to be operational in late summer 2021 and will makes it possible for DFDS’ ferries to significantly reduce CO2 emissions.

Sweden’s first cruise ship call of the year where passengers will be able to leave the ship to visit Gothenburg, Visby and Stockholm will take place on 15th June.
