  • Major cruise weekend in Copenhagen

    May 16-17 was a weekend marked by high passenger volumes and smooth cruise operations in the Danish capital with five vessels calling at Langelinie and Oceankaj. The arrivals — Britannia of P&O Cruises, TUI’s Mein Schiff Relax, Viking Neptune, Costa Diadema and AIDAbella — brought more than 17.000 guests to the city, marking one of the busiest weekends this year.

  • Copenhagen Malmö Port Hosts Danske Havnes Conference 2026 in Copenhagen

    CMP was proud to host the Danish Ports Conference 2026, held on 14–15 April at CMP’s Cruise Terminal in Nordhavn, Copenhagen. Organised by Danske Havne and held every two years, the conference brought together more than 200 participants from Denmark’s commercial ports, authorities, companies and industry organisations.

    2026 marks CMP’s 25th anniversary. The year after the Oresund Bridge opened, Copenhagen Malmö Port was established – at that time the world’s only port company operating across national borders.   • Swedish Government funding brings the Malmö CO₂ Hub closer to realisation

    The development of a CO₂ hub in Malmö has taken an important step forward. The Swedish Energy Agency has granted 31 million SEK to Nordion Energi through the national Industriklivet programme to complete the analytical work required ahead of a final investment decision in 2027.

🚢 New Simulation Study Enhances Safety for Container Traffic to CMP’s New Container Terminal in Ydre Nordhavn 🌊 In close collaboration with Force Technology, DanPilot, the Danish Maritime Authority, and By & Havn, CMP recently conducted an extensive simulation study using Force Technology’s full-mission simulator in Lyngby. The objective was to ensure safe and efficient arrivals and departures for container ships at the new terminal in Ydre Nordhavn. This simulation study lays a solid foundation for CMP’s future container traffic at Ydre Nordhavn and reaffirms our commitment to maritime safety and operational efficiency. 🚢

Georg Stage will depart later today. ⚓🌊 On this #worldmaritimeday, it is a pleasure to see Georg Stage sail on to continue the education of the next generation of maritime professionals💪 It is a very different Copenhagen that Georg Stage has called home since 1882 and today. Georg Stage training ship at Nordre Toldbod in Copenhagen ⚓ The training ship Georg Stage will be moored at CMP’s facilities at Nordre Toldbod in Copenhagen from 24 to 26 September 2024. The Georg Stage’s call at Nordre Toldbod emphasises the connection between the city of Copenhagen and its commercial port, the training of future seafarers, and the preservation of the strong and vibrant maritime tradition in Copenhagen and Denmark. The Georg Stage is the world’s oldest sailing civilian maritime school and the model for all the sailing maritime schools that have been established around the world over the years. Today, it is one of only two schools globally that provide young people with a professional maritime education on-board a sailing ship. “For Copenhagen as a commercial port and CMP as a maritime workplace, it is a great honour to be able to welcome the world’s oldest sailing maritime school, the Georg Stage, to the quays at Nordre Toldbod. As a training ship, Georg Stage is crucial for ensuring the continuing supply of skilled maritime graduates to shipping companies and other maritime employers,” remarks Barbara Scheel Agersnap, CEO, Copenhagen Malmö Port. First call for Silver Dawn in Visby! 🛳️ Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Silver Dawn of @silverseacruises on her maiden call to Visby. ⚓ Thomas Hogenfält from the Port of Visby exchanged crests with the ship's captain, Kosta. 🛡 Also attending were hotel director Alicia Aguirrezabal from the crew, along with John Jakobsson from Sjöfartsverket and ship agent Annelie Gerhardottir. ⚓CMP Achieves Fossil-Free Fuel Milestone at Copenhagen Container Terminal! 🌱 We are thrilled to announce that Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) has fully phased in the renewable fossil-free fuel HVO100 (hydrogenated vegetable oil) at our container terminal in Copenhagen. This significant achievement means our container handling operations are now entirely fossil-free, reducing our annual fossil diesel consumption by over 286,000 litres and CO2e emissions by 640 tonnes. The Copenhagen container terminal is vital for consumers and businesses in the Copenhagen metropolitan area and Zealand at large, handling the majority of containers for the eastern part of Denmark. From 2020 to 2023, we have already reduced our CO2 emissions by 68%, equivalent to an annual reduction of 1,477 tonnes of CO2e. In Malmö, the deployment of HVO100 has cut our emissions by over 840 tonnes CO2e annually. 💪

First call for Azamara Onward in Visby! 🎉 Last Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Azamara Onward of Azamara to Visby for the first time. While the guests had the chance to enjoy the medieval charm of Visby and amazing nature and culture of Gotland, CMP's Anna Sylvan and Mats Eriksson of the Port of Visby exchanged plaques with Captain Gianmario Sanguineti of Azamara Onward, welcoming the ship to Gotland and Visby.🛡️⚓ Azamara Onward also called CMP’s Oceankaj terminals Copenhagen for the first time in July and came back in August for passenger change. ⚓🛳️ Thank you for the visit and have a safe onwards journey! 🌊 #cmport #visby
