Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) is entering a new era of year-round cruising, with a record number of calls outside the traditional summer season. These developments are a major advantage for the destinations, as off-season calls allow guests the opportunity to explore local attractions, enjoy cultural experiences, and contribute to the regional economy throughout the year.
In 2024, CMP entered into a partnership with Green2x focused on the design, establishment, and operation of what is expected to become one of the world’s largest biofuel plants in Norra Hamnen, Malmö. The establishment will significantly contribute to the transition to fossil-free energy while creating job opportunities.
At a ceremony held in Hamburg on September 10, Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) was awarded the prestigious Seatrade Cruise Award for Port of the Year 2025.
Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP), together with Scandinavian Tank Storage (STS), St1, and Green Cargo, has taken an important step toward more sustainable and efficient transport. We are delighted that our partner Finnlines has expanded with a new route between Malmö and Świnoujście in Poland. Finnlines’ Finnfellow will operate the route daily in both directions, in the morning from Malmö and with evening service from Świnoujście. CMP, E.ON, Nordion Energi, Sysav and Uniper have signed a partnership agreement for the development of a CO2 hub in Malmö. The collaboration is part of the regional project Carbon Network South Sweden, CNetSS, and will carry out feasibility studies to investigate the conditions for an intermediate storage facility in Norra Hamnen.

CMP established has a clear target of being climate neutral in our own operations by 2025. An integral part of this work is our transition from natural gas to biogas for the heating of CMP’s properties in Malmö. The decision to phase out natural gas was made near the end of 2020 and the shift was accomplished in the beginning of last year.
One significantly important part of the efforts to achieve CMP’s climate goal of carbon neutrality by 2025 is the replacement of diesel-powered cars and staff buses at the terminals with electric powered vehicles, and the shift of fuel from fossil diesel to HVO in machines and cranes.
