CMP joins application to the EU for significant funding for CO2 capture project on Amager Bakke, which can contribute to making Copenhagen CO2 neutral by 2025

​A facility for the capture of CO2 will reduce emissions from the ARC by 500,000 tonnes of CO2 annually and can thus significantly contribute to the City of Copenhagen’s goal of becoming the world’s first capital city in the world to become carbon-neutral. CMP will become a central party in distributing the captured CO2 to ships that sail the CO2 to storage in old oil fields in the North Sea.

​The cruise line NCL is calling Copenhagen for two days between Monday 21 of September and Wednesday 23 of September with the cruise ships Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Encore. The calls are so called technical calls, enable technical support and provisioning. There are no cruise passengers on board The crew will not disembark the ship and no crew changes will be made.

The corona pandemic has had a huge negative impact on the cruise season 2020 with almost 100 % cancellations. Some cruise lines are now offering smaller cruises with a limited number of passengers.

Most of these ships have a limited number of crew members on board, which is necessary to maintain the ships. Denmark's borders are closed to passenger traffic; we cannot therefore receive any cruise passengers on the Danish side until mid-April at the earliest.
