  • Strong year with cruise record for Copenhagen Malmö Port

    CMP’s turnover in 2017 amounted to SEK 839 (812) million. Operating income was SEK 78 (43) million and operating margin was 9.3 (5.3) per cent. During the year CMP handled 15.5 (15.7) million tonnes of freight. CMP also received 849,000 cruise passengers which is an increase of almost 16 per cent.   • Bunkering LNG - now also at CMP

    CMP now offers bunkering of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). First off was the vessel Ireland, which unloaded cement in Malmö. In connection with this she was provided with LNG via tanker lorries. It's about bunkering where safety requirements are extra tough.

  • Sunny cruise premiere in Malmö

    In brilliant sunshine, CMP welcomed this year’s first cruise ship to Malmö. There will be a total of nine arrivals during the season, which will put Malmö on the cruise map again.

  • The consultation phase has begun - Ydre Nordhavn

    By & Havn and Copenhagen Malmö Port wish to establish a container terminal and a new cruise terminal in Ydre Nordhavn and at the same time make the harbour deeper off the new terminals.

  • Cruise quay in Visby has opened

    The new cruise quay in Visby was opened today in connection with the visit to the port of the ship AIDAdiva. The venture is a collaboration between Region Gotland and Copenhagen Malmö Port, CMP, with Region Gotland building the quay and CMP taking responsibility for the actual operation starting from now.

  • CMP and Mercedes-Benz Försäljnings AB extend collaboration

    Mercedes-Benz Försäljnings AB is establishing a base in the port area in Malmö and thereby strengthening its collaboration with CMP. The company previously rented outdoor areas from CMP, but it has now decided to move its workshop operation to Frihamnen.

  • The first arrival in Visby

    Astoria was the first ship to arrive at the new cruise quay in Visby today, entirely according to plan. It marks the start of the 2018 cruise season and CMP is delighted that the new terminal is now open. 550 passengers arrived early in the morning and many of them chose to proceed onward by bus to discover Gotland. The quay will be officially inaugurated on 29 April with specially invited guests

  • Not long until premiere for cruises in Visby - CMP's latest destination

    It will soon be the premiere for cruises in Visby, the first call is on April 16. CMP’s terminal is offically inaugurated at the end of April, with two cruise ships arriving on that day with about 2,600 passengers. There will be a total of about 90 arrivals during the season.

  • Neptunes will reduce noise

    Neptunes is the project that is getting to grips with the noise issue. CMP and a number of other ports are behind the collaboration. The aim is to produce a standard for measurement and classification from which the entire industry can benefit – and which will reduce noise in the long-term!

  • VMU - the global shipping worlds own university

    Global shipping has its own university in Malmö: the World Maritime University (WMU), which has educated thousands of students over the years. CMP supports WMU’s activities in various ways.

  • Green Cargo and Lineas respond to market demand for international rail shuttles

    There is considerable market demand for international rail shuttle services. Green Cargo and the Belgium firm, Lineas, have increased the number of train departures on the popular direct route, Belgium Direct, between Sweden and Belgium for existing and new customers. On January 12, the fourth shuttle started between the countries and volumes on the trains is increasing.

  • High & Heavy heading eastwards

    They are high or heavy and sometimes both! It concerns freight in the High & Heavy segment, which is now increasing at CMP. Dumpers and wheel loaders from Volvo are being exported to Russia.
