Visit to Copenhagen by the Green Ship M/V AUTO ENERGY
Last week we received a visit in Copenhagen from the PCTC-ship (Pure Car/Truck Carrier) M/V AUTO ENERGY. AUTO ENERGY comes from the shipping company UECC and is a regular guest of CMP in Malmö, where she is at our dock every other week, from Tuesday to Wednesday, for loading and unloading of vehicles. It was also at CMP in Malmö in 2017 that UECC chose to name its ship. You can watch the naming ceremony here -->
What makes AUTO ENERGY stand out among many other vessels is that it is powered by LNG, liquefied natural gas, a type of fuel that reduces particulate emissions by up to 99 percent compared with other fuels.
"It’s great to see the Auto Energy ship here with us in Copenhagen. Especially since she is an LNG ship that emits significantly less pollutants to the air than ships fuelled by other fuels. A step in the right direction for a greener Copenhagen,” remarks Martin Bro Andersen, Manager, Terminal & Logistic Planning at CMP.
The ship arrived from Zeebrugge to our harbour at six in the morning and by ten o’clock we had unloaded the ship and it could sail on to our terminal in Malmö.’’
