Malmö Industrial Park at the world's leading logistics trade fair
The world’s leading logistics trade fair, Transport Logistic, will be held in Munich on 4 - 7 June. Obviously, Malmö Industrial Park will also be marketed at the fair. Malmö City Council and CMP are on site along with several logistics companies in order to establish more collaborations in the industrial park.
This is the second time that Malmö Industrial Park will be participating in Transport Logistic in Munich, which attracts over 2,000 exhibitors from 60 countries and more than 60,000 visitors.
”The trade fair provides inspiration at the same time as we will be able to interest more companies in the Öresund region. It is the single largest market in the Nordic region and Malmö Industrial Park is a perfect location to establish logistics operations”, says Olle Anderberg, project manager at the Real Estate and Highways Department in Malmö City.
”CMP will also take the opportunity to network with customers, operators and suppliers at the trade fair in order to develop our position as the leading port in the region”, says Ann-Charlotte Halldén-Åkeson, Key Account Manager within Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP).
A hubThe industrial park is located in close proximity to the major population centres such as Malmö and Copenhagen, but is also connected to transport networks which link together markets throughout Northern Europe. Furthermore, this network is in the process of being extended, including the Fehmarn Belt connection. This will make the area an even more important hub in the future.
”We will also be highlighting the smart new collaborations that are being established in the port area. Companies such as E.ON, Sysav, CMP and VA Syd are developing joint solutions here within everything from energy to logistics. These innovative, sustainable initiatives are increasing interest in more establishments”.
Two sites have recently been reserved in the area. Corem Property Group is planning a logistics centre and in April MG Real Estate announced that it was developing a logistics and office facility. Skanska established a logistics property as early as 2017.
”Corem, MG Real Estate and Skanska will be at the trade fair together with Malmö City, CMP and Invest in Skåne”, Olle Anderberg reports. ”The fact that our partners are involved is positive and paves the way for new contacts which will provide a further boost to property development in the area”.
Close to the portThe location in close proximity to the port is another major competitive advantage for Malmö Industrial Park.
”It makes the area a fantastic logistics location, where companies have access to a complete network of road, rail and sea transportation”, Ann-Charlotte Halldén-Åkeson says.
CMP’s range of services is also close to hand, which can always be adapted according to the companies’ need for transportation, storage and other handling.
”The sites in the industrial park can be adapted to the companies’ different needs”, Olle Anderberg concludes. “We call this “Ready To Go” in order to signal how quickly and simply the establishments can be implemented, but also to demonstrate that all the infrastructure is already in place”.
