CMP - a logistics hub for carton handling

CMP is a logistics hub for different kinds of goods – and now also for carton packaging. BillerudKorsnäs transports cartons to Malmö, where they are reloaded and transported on to customers in Sweden and Germany.

BillerudKorsnäs offers material and new solutions for the packaging market, including cartons that become packaging for everything from food and drink to pharmaceuticals and various industrial products. Since 2015 CMP has become one of BillerudKorsnäs's logistics hubs. Southern Sweden is a fine point for distributing goods to companies in this part of the country as well as to customers in Northern Europe.

– For us, BillerudKorsnäs is an important strategic partner that we hope to increase collaboration with in the future, says Ann-Charlotte Halldén-Åkeson, Key Account Manager at CMP.

The carton packaging arrives by rail from BillerudKorsnäs's paper mills to CMP. At CMP, the goods are loaded onto trucks that deliver the carton material to customers. The partnership between the two companies has been gradually developed since 2015.

– We have, for example, developed IT solutions together and adapted our machinery and project management so that they match BillerudKorsnäs's requirements, says Ann-Charlotte Halldén-Åkeson.

The two companies have commenced a journey together that will hopefully pave the way for a wider partnership and greater volumes – also involving other types of BillerudKorsnäs.
